{"id":4372,"date":"2023-11-23T12:07:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-23T11:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rent-a-pilot.nl\/?p=4372"},"modified":"2024-01-24T12:03:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T11:03:04","slug":"wordpress-6-4-with-2024-theme-is-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rent-a-pilot.nl\/nl\/wordpress-6-4-with-2024-theme-is-here\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress 6.4 with 2024 theme is here"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Activate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because this is also my dev playground test site I just upgraded tot WordPress 6.4 and activated the 2024 theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, stuff like my headers and footers broke (again) and it is going to take some time before I will have fixed all of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there are some very <strong>welcome new features<\/strong> to look forward to like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Style controls for links in the footers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ability to name blocks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ofcourse the interface is all different (again) but it will be worth it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are also two <strong>interesting new features <\/strong>that you must use wisely to avoid looking like a 1990&#8217;s Geocities website:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Background images and colours for group blocks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sticky blocks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final tip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Install the <a href=\"https:\/\/blockvisibilitywp.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Block visibility plugin by Nick Diego<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After activating the 2024 theme there is all kinds unconfigured stuff on your page that you may want to use later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make that mess go away quickly by setting it to invisible.
