Because this is also my dev playground test site I just upgraded tot WordPress 6.4 and activated the 2024 theme.
So, stuff like my headers and footers broke (again) and it is going to take some time before I will have fixed all of it.
However, there are some very welcome new features to look forward to like:
- Style controls for links in the footers
- The ability to name blocks
Ofcourse the interface is all different (again) but it will be worth it.
There are also two interesting new features that you must use wisely to avoid looking like a 1990’s Geocities website:
- Background images and colours for group blocks
- Sticky blocks.
Final tip
Install the Block visibility plugin by Nick Diego.
After activating the 2024 theme there is all kinds unconfigured stuff on your page that you may want to use later.
Make that mess go away quickly by setting it to invisible. You can then use it later when you are ready to do so.
